Yes, that’s right: another blog by some twenty-something guy thinking he can win hearts and minds through his writing.
Content making seems to be at an all time high with people left and right coming out the woodwork to become influencers and will their thoughts on the world. Everybody has an opinion and everybody has a desire to be heard, understood, and feel like they have an impact on the world. And sometimes it ends up being so impactful that a person becomes famous while other times one creates content just for a future self to cringe at. Let’s all hope that this is the former.
The goal of this website is to document a framework that’s easy for the common person to understand. The framework will outline some general strategies to 1) be financially secure and 2) promote climate friendly strategies that support your security as well as the world we live on. A healthy climate and our current financial powers that be seem to be at odds with each other, and it’s utter BS. People can be climate friendly while also working to create personal wealth to fund their goals (house, family, that hella nice EV you’ve been eyeing, etc.). If all goes right, each post in this blog will help meet parameters 1) and 2). That’s it.
The Framework
This may be embellished in a If You Can format with posts categorized to help fit within the blocks, but for now you get this:
- Stop Consuming, You Dingleberry
- Learn Yourself and Learn About Yourself
- Put Your Money to Work
- Spend Time on the Things That Matter
There’s a big challenge ahead of each person. Financial wellness doesn’t come easy with the attention economy always vying to get you to buy, spend, and consume your day away. On top of that, the looming climate catastrophe may be our greatest generational challenge. Personal struggle must come together with societal struggle in order for us all to come out on the other end. And to borrow a little magic from William J. Bernstein again, if we can follow the framework, we may just do it.
